A tiny desktop app that turns any video link into a proper MP4 file — saved right to your computer. Nothing leaves your machine. Nothing to install beyond one file.
One file. No account required to use the Converter. Free to try — see pricing below.
YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok, X, Instagram, Facebook, direct MP4 stream URLs — over a thousand sites work out of the box.
Best available, 1080p, 720p, 480p, or audio-only. The Converter fetches the highest quality the site publishes.
Saved to Downloads → Vulu Converter. Standard MP4. Plays anywhere. Yours to keep, edit, upload to Vulu, whatever you want.
The Converter runs entirely on your machine. When you paste a URL, your computer talks directly to the source site — Vulu servers are never in the loop. We don't see what you download. We don't log it. We don't have telemetry. The app doesn't even need an internet connection to us, only to the source site you're pulling from.
The Converter also stacks with the Founding Member and Vet discount codes if you have one.

Every installer we publish comes with a published SHA-256 checksum (see the download cards above). To verify yours matches, run this one-liner in a terminal after downloading:
The hash your machine produces should exactly match the one on the download card. If it doesn't, delete the file and re-download — it's either corrupted or tampered with.
You'll see "Windows protected your PC" on first run. This is Microsoft's SmartScreen warning for any newly-published installer that hasn't yet built reputation — it appears for every small developer's software until enough downloads and time accumulate. We're actively working on a code-signing certificate that clears this warning instantly. Meanwhile, click More info then Run anyway. Verify the SHA-256 checksum (above) if you want additional assurance.
The Mac build is coming — the build kit exists, we just need to run it on a Mac and put it through Apple's notarization process. Watch this page or sign up for a Vulu account to get notified when it's out.
No. The Converter is a standalone desktop app — it runs entirely on your machine, doesn't require signup, and doesn't talk to Vulu at all. A Vulu account only comes into play if you want the 50%-off subscriber pricing, or if you want to upload your converted MP4s to your Vulu library directly (that integration is in development).
Over a thousand out of the box — YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok, X (Twitter), Instagram, Facebook,
SoundCloud, Twitch, and many more via the underlying open-source
yt-dlp engine.
Direct MP4 or HLS stream URLs also work. If a site doesn't work out of the box, you can grab the
stream URL from your browser's DevTools (Network tab → filter mp4) and paste that
into the Converter instead.
It depends on the content and your jurisdiction. Vulu Converter is a general-purpose tool — you can and should only use it to download content you own, have permission to download, or that is clearly public-domain / Creative Commons. Downloading copyrighted material without permission may violate the source site's Terms of Service AND applicable copyright law. That's your responsibility to sort out. Vulu doesn't monitor your downloads.
By default: Downloads → Vulu Converter on both Windows and macOS. The folder is
created the first time you use the app. Each file uses the source video's title as its name.
On Windows: Settings → Apps → Vulu Converter → Uninstall. On macOS: drag Vulu Converter from Applications to the Trash. Neither method touches your downloaded files — those stay put.
The subscription unlocks the Vulu streaming library, ad-free playback on any device, offline access, and a discounted price on the Converter ($9.99 instead of $19.99). Subscribers on the Pro tier also get the highest storage cap (75 GB / 300 videos). See the pricing page for details.
